is money a good reward to motivate employees to work hard?

Nowadays more and more companies are rewarding their members of staff by giving them extra money as a way to motivate them to continue working hard, but is money the right reward for them? There are different points of view about it.

Some employees state that money is the best reward because everybody works for money, and it really motivates them to keep working hard in order to continue having that kind of reward from the company.

There are people who think that it kind of reward act as a conditioning to work just for money and not because they really want to contribute to the company. Good workers don’t work for a reward; good workers are who work because they really like their job and want to become better every day. For them the best kind of reward is a good work atmosphere, to have an active participation taking decisions or having special trainings. Rewards should not be materials.

In my opinion companies should put more attention on that kind of workers those who are creative, who have leading skills and are mentally actives. Those are qualities that money can not buy.

should be people encouraged to wear our national costume every day? Do you agree or disagree?

These days traditions are not as important as they were a century ago and actually a lot of people don’t worry about keeping them alive, even knowing that they are an important part of our country identity. Should we wear our national costume everyday as a way to make us remember our history and traditions?
There are many different points of view about it.

Some people think that wearing or not wearing our national costume has nothing to do with their knowledge about our history and how they follow our traditions. For them the kind of clothes you wear doesn`t means anything. Despite this they feel we are getting lost of our culture and our true identity because we are adapting our lives to modernization.

Young people say that there is no way they could use the same kind of clothes every day, it’s fine to wear it for especial occasions like the 18th of September, when we remember our national independence. They agree on the point that we should be more conscious about trying to keep our traditions and history but not in this way.

In my opinion I think that it is not an effective way to instruct people on traditions and history, it’s really bored just to think about wearing the same clothes every day. For me a better idea could be to make workshops as a way to preserve our identity.

Yesterday Carlos told me the story of the old man who lives on the street. Moreover he told me that the old man remains him his grandfather, because he died on the street living on the same conditions that this man is living right now.
Despite this Carlos is a not a really good person and he have never care about somebody before, but surprisingly he was really affected by the story of this old man.

Carlos said that one day he was going home after classes when he decided to go closer to the man and he started talking to him. Interestingly that old man wasn’t as crazy as everybody thought, and he was aware of everything that was currently happening, and also he realized that he knew a lot about world history.

Online teaching
Nowadays online teaching is becoming very important. A lot of people think that learning in this way is much more easier especially for people who work during the day, but are teachers actually prepared to deal with this new teaching environment?

Smoking

A lot of people think that smoking is a sign you can do what you want that you are in control of your life, but think about it this way: when you start smoking you are doing exactly what tobbaco companies want you to do. They spend a lot of money on advertising to try to get new people. Do you really want a big company controling your life and telling you how to spend your money?

why people prefer not to get married?

Nowadays, getting married is not as important as it was in the past. Young people don´t think about marriage as our parents used to twenty years ago, but why do you think new generations are deciding not to get married? There are some reasons for this change that we are going to talk about.

These days many couples prefer not to get married even if they have long relationships with their partners. People prefer to enjoy their lives to the full until the age of thirty, even if they have a serious relationship. They need to feel more independent and some of them consider themselves not to be prepared for the responsibilities a marriage implies.

Then, there are couples who live together and have a baby but they don´t want to marry. They don´t believe in the importance of some papers which evidence their marriage. For these couples the most important thing is to get along together very well, to love and respect each other. Moreover, there are so many families who are married but this doesn´t mean they are happy.

In conclusion, marriage should not be a jail sentence but likewise it´s not a holiday either. I think one should enter into it only when we understand what it really means and are prepared to make the effort required to keep it fresh and to make it fun, and it could be a beautiful experience.

"Culture shock"

Nowadays travel or moving to a foregin country is becoming very important for a lot of people. They go abroad to study, have vacations or go on business, but setting into a new culture can be very difficult and sometimes " Culture Shock" is inevitable.

Culture shock happens when we move to a completely new environment, it grows out of the difficulties in assimilating the new culture. People start feeling surprise, desorientation, uncertainty or confusion, because everything is different, for example, not speaking the language, not knowing how to use banking machines, to find other´s people habits annoying, not knowing what is appropiate and what is not and so forth.

There are some ways that can help you to avoid or to deal with culture shock in case you are thinking about going abroad. Before you go to another country you can read about it and its culture, this way the country and its people are more familiar before arriving.

Be open-minded about the culture you will visit, with the different types of personalities, socio-economic conditions, try to familiarizate with the language and avoid being offended.

Each person has their own way to react to culture shock, in some cases it may be really difficult to tackle it, but you should take it in a possitive way and try to positively confront the obstacles.

Secondary School

Should physical punishment be an option for teachers to deal with bad behaviour? Of course not. In my opinion beating of children in school has no place in any society, violence is not an acceptable way to solve or to correct problems.

As a teacher you can not use corporal punishment that´s not the way to improve discipline in the classroom, because if we teach with violence those students will probably be violent people in the future. Studies indicate that levels of violence are rising every day in our society and we as teachers must help to improve that situation not to make it worse.

Research shows that a lot of teachers use physical punishment against their students for such things as not finishing work, not learning fast enough, talking in class or just for doing work incorrectly.
I am of the opinion that teachers´ job is really hard, but there are a lot of better solutions to solve that kind of problems.

From my point of view teachers should look for another way to deal with school discipline, because physical punishment is still an act of violence against a child, it goes against the law and against child´s rights.
